Lüdenscheid: AOK company run breaks participant record again with 6805 runners!

The 21st edition of the AOK company run took place in Lüdenscheid on July 5, 2025, and the numbers speak for themselves: with 6,805 participants taking part, the third highest number of participants was achieved since the premiere in 2003. The event not only exceeded last year's record of 7,015 participants, but also showed that the enthusiasm for this company run remains unbroken. The renowned event will be accompanied with a lot of enthusiasm and good humor by Dirk Weiland, who has been moderating for the twentieth time. Come-On.de reports.

The race covered a distance of 6 kilometers and the last participants crossed the starting line after 13 minutes. The fastest this year was Christian Rüsche from SG Wenden, who completed the route in an impressive time of 19:28 minutes. Paula King from LAV Stadtwerke Tübingen was able to take first place for the fastest woman and shows once again that there is also a high level of motivation in the women's area.

Teams and T-Shirts: Creativity and Community

A highlight of the event was also the awarding of the largest teams and the most creative company T-shirts. The Awo-Kita Farbenspiel from Meinerzhagen won the prizes for the best T-shirts, while the “Village Beauties” from Kierspe and the Lüdenscheid ENT Center took second and third place. Brigitte Klein, the head of the company run, expressed the highest praise to everyone involved at the award ceremony and praised the successful achievements on stage. Lokaldirekt.de added.

The program surrounding the run was also a complete success: the first activities took place on the town hall square from 5.30 p.m., with music by DJ Dirk Weiland and the interactive band “Rumbacoustic”. Stilt walkers and the mascot Jolinchen created a good atmosphere while the audience waited for the runners. Despite the challenges faced, such as the weather with moderate temperatures between 19 and 28 degrees, the event remained consistently positive.

The company run in context

HDSports.de highlights that around 100 company runs take place in Germany every year and many even attract over 10,000 participants. The Lüdenscheid company run joins a series of popular and important events in Germany that are organized by big names such as the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge, be inspired. The average distance of these runs is usually 5 kilometers, which helps motivate even less athletic participants.

Overall, the AOK company run in Lüdenscheid was not only a sporting event, but also a community celebration, which once again proved how important and popular such events are in the region. We can only look forward to what the next edition will bring next year!
