Seven new trainees are starting training to become emergency paramedics in the Märkischer Kreis!

A breath of fresh air is blowing through the Märkischer Kreis rescue service: seven new trainees started their training to become emergency paramedics at the fire protection and rescue service center in Altena-Rosmart today. Reported locally that the future lifesavers will not only learn theory in the next three years. Practical experiences are also on the schedule, including assignments at various rescue stations and hospital internships.

The new trainees - Gianluca Addelia, Lukas Angermann, Amy-Linn Müller, Julian Schmerder, Lukas Schmitt, Yannik Werbelow and Kemal-Akif Yilmaz - received support from Uwe Krischer, the head of the emergency services management company, Andrea Crico, who is responsible for training, and Stefan Egger, the specialist services manager of the emergency services administration, as part of a warm welcome. Training coordinator Selattin Alptekin emphasized the significance of her choice: “Helping people in emergencies is an important decision.”

Training details

The introductory week is already in full swing. The trainees started dressing at the rescue station in Werdohl, where they received their uniforms. This week there are also team building activities on the program, which include, for example, a joint hike in Neuenrade. From the third week of training, theoretical lessons begin at the AGewiS emergency services school in Gummersbach, followed by practical operations - in Altena, Balve, Halver, Meinerzhagen and Werdohl.

The training is demanding. It includes a total of 4,600 hours, divided into 1,920 hours of theory, 1,960 hours of practical training in training rescue stations and 720 hours in the hospital. Training.de explains that emergency paramedics must provide initial care to patients in the emergency services, make diagnoses and initiate life-saving measures.

Career prospects and challenges

Emergency paramedic training was introduced in 2014. This replaced training to become a paramedic and further increased the demands on highly qualified specialists. In Germany, they are responsible for patient care in an ambulance that costs around 160,000 euros and reaches speeds of up to 100 km/h. In addition, all operations must be on site within 12 minutes. Local Voice highlights that the Märkischer Kreis is the responsible provider of the rescue service and operates no fewer than six rescue stations and two branch offices.

Since the demand for qualified personnel remains high, many doors are open to trainees. The training not only secures a stable job, but also numerous further training opportunities, for example to become a senior emergency paramedic or a training rescue assistant.

With a committed team and ambitious goals, the new trainees begin their exciting path in the rescue service. We wish them every success on their journey to be there in an emergency when it matters most!
