What are the Big Five?
The Big Five model is one of the most important and well-founded approaches in modern personality psychology. Experts consider it the standard model, supported by countless empirical studies. Since the 1930s, psychologists such as Gordon W. Allport and Harry S. Odbert have laid the foundations for this model by developing a lexical approach to analyzing personality. The results of this research have led to the Big Five model being considered one of the most studied models and has driven many modern personality tests, such as the LINC PERSONALITY PROFILER. The lecture therefore offers not only theory-based insights, but also everyday applications.
A key advantage of the Big Five model is that it helps to better understand one's own personality, which in turn teaches a good hand for interpersonal relationships. Anyone who would like to take advantage of these findings should not miss the opportunity on July 4th. The goal is clear: a deeper understanding of your own strengths and weaknesses as well as the behavior of others - not only in your private life, but also in a professional context.
At a time when interpersonal interactions often fall by the wayside, knowing the Big Five can certainly help build bridges and improve communication. There is something in the air, and perhaps this evening will be the first step towards more understanding and empathy in your own environment.
