Three weeks until the village festival: fun and help in the Peace Village!

The countdown is running! Only three weeks remain until Friedensdorf International's highly anticipated village festival, which will take place on Saturday, September 13th. The festival promises a wonderful experience for the whole family and takes place on Rua Hiroshima in Oberhausen-Schmachtendorf. The gates opened at 10 a.m. and visitors can explore the numerous attractions until 6 p.m.

Around 45 stands are expected at this colorful hustle and bustle, offering a variety of activities. This includes face painting, creative crafts, hands-on games and stalls with toys and decorative items. Your physical well-being is also taken care of: the food stands offer, among other things, delicious Vietnamese spring rolls, Japanese delicacies, homemade cakes and crispy grilled meat.

Entertainment and engagement

A special highlight will be the stage program, which will be designed by talented village children, Japanese groups and other actors. The entertainer Dirk Elfgen will moderate the event and perform music together with Edwina de Pooter. The new patron of the Peace Village, the NRW Labor and Health Minister Karl-Josef Laumann, will also be present on the festival stage. There will also be an interview with him and the Friedensdorf director Birgit Stifter.

An important aim of the festival is the collection of toothbrushes, toothpaste and bar soap for an aid campaign in northern Afghanistan. This shows the social commitment of the organizers and the support for people in need.

Parking and support

When it comes to getting there, the organizers will soon be able to provide information about parking options and a shuttle service for visitors. The village festival will receive support from a total of eleven Lions Clubs as well as numerous companies that will also offer stalls and activities for the children. A stand called “Frieda’s World” will offer gift items that are sure to bring joy.

It's a great opportunity to get together with the community while doing something good. The anticipation for the village festival is increasing and it remains to be hoped that many visitors will find their way to Oberhausen-Schmachtendorf.
