An exciting duel in the league took place on August 10, 2025, when the SG Finnentrop/Bamenohl on the championship contender ASC Dortmund met. The Bamenohlers struggled for a long time and were down 1-0 until injury time. In the end, however, the almost 300 spectators experienced a dramatic equalizer that caused emotions to run high.
The game started with an early goal for the guests. Maximilian Podehl gave ASC 09 a 0-1 lead in the 11th minute. But Finnentrop was not discouraged. While there was little danger in the first half, the hosts came into the game more offensively after the break. ASC keeper Joel Nickel had to stretch several times to fend off dangerous shots, such as those from Melvin Musangus.
A dramatic finish
Things should finally get exciting in stoppage time. Referee Patrick Holz announced the “final action” while Marcel Becker took a corner. Goalkeeper Christian Bölker courageously left his box to support the ball. But luck was on Bamenohler's side when Jan-Patrick Friedrich unluckily extended the ball and it landed on the left post. Eren Albayrak was there and scored the much celebrated equalizer for Finnentrop in the 90th + 6th minute.
The cheers were huge; Players and staff stormed the pitch and the fans euphorically celebrated their team's comeback. The development corresponds entirely to the sporting spirit to which the upper league is committed, where you often have to hope for the last few minutes to turn the tide.
After the game
This draw comes as a shock for ASC 09, as they had to concede the equalizer in the final seconds after a solid game and a lead. The next derby against Türkspor Dortmund is scheduled for August 16th at 6:00 p.m. in the Urlaubsguru Waldstadion. The team will have to focus on stabilizing their defense to avoid similar setbacks.

A total of 31 goals were scored on the last matchday in the Lower Saxony Oberliga, while 23 goals were scored in the Hessenliga.
