Closures on the A33 and A44: Important diversions for Paderborn residents!

Motorway traffic in the Paderborn region will be affected by several closures in the coming days. The Westfalen motorway company is carrying out urgent repairs to the guardrails on the A33 and A44. This not only affects the roadways, but also various exits and driveways, which are temporarily closed in order to relieve traffic as much as possible. According to Westfalen Blatt, the closures usually take place outside of peak traffic times, which benefits commuters.

Next Monday, July 7th, the exits at the Paderborn-Mönkeloh and Paderborn-Elsen junctions will be affected. In the first phase, the exit in Mönkeloh will be closed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The diversion leads via Paderborn-Zentrum. Afterwards, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the exit in Elsen is closed - here the diversion goes via Paderborn-Schloss Neuhaus.

Construction site overview

On Tuesday, July 8th, the Paderborn-Schloß Neuhaus junction in the direction of Bielefeld/Osnabrück will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Here the diversion leads via Paderborn-Sennelager. Also on this day, the driveway at the Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock junction will be closed from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The diversion runs via the A2 junction Bielefeld-Süd. Road renovation work is also being carried out on the A33 in the direction of Brilon - here the Paderborn-Schloss Neuhaus junction will be closed on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Another deadline is Wednesday, July 9th. Then the Paderborn-Zentrum junction in the direction of Brilon is not accessible from 12 p.m. to 1.30 p.m. The diversion takes place via Paderborn-Mönkeloh. The exit at the Borchen junction will also be closed between 1.30 p.m. and 3 p.m., with a diversion via the Etteln junction.

Construction work will continue on Thursday, July 10th. Here the motorway entrance at the Marsberg junction in the direction of Kassel will be closed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the diversion leading via the Diemelstadt junction. This series of work is supplemented by Verkehrslage, the latest report on construction sites and closures in the region confirms the short-term measures again.

Efficient construction site management

The German motorway network is under heavy load every day, which is why well thought-out construction site management is essential. The work is planned taking economic and organizational aspects into account. The federal government provides clear guidelines for uniform workplace management, which proves to be advantageous for the efficient implementation of these measures, as can be found on the Federal Ministry of Transport website.

Commuters and drivers can find out about the current construction sites on the Autobahn GmbH homepage. The routines are designed in such a way that the flow of traffic can be maintained as smoothly as possible despite the necessary work. The construction operations planning program guarantees that all work is carried out to consistent standards to avoid delays and major disruptions.
