Bedburg Castle Park: New splendor and reopening soon!
A new splendor for the Bedburg Castle Park – that was the main goal of the first construction phase, which was recently successfully completed. On August 19, 2025, the park will open its gates to visitors again and invite you to explore the fresh renovations. With lots of new features, the castle park is definitely a hit. The central areas have been provided with barrier-free paths, comfortable seats by the water and a common lounge area, so that the feel-good factor increases significantly. In addition, the western section next to the palace gardens was extensively redesigned, making the park even more attractive. They didn't miss the opportunity to focus on nature and the needs of the guests.
To properly celebrate the redesign, an event is planned for August 29, 2025. With guided tours and activities for children, the park becomes a place to play and discover – a celebration for the whole family. It is important that not only the park itself but also the surrounding area invite you to linger. This shows how important successful design of public spaces is, as it promotes social interaction.
View of the second construction phase
But that's just the beginning! The second construction phase will begin in winter 2025 and will bring further exciting innovations. Plans include new pedestrian bridges, a public toilet and additional seating along the Erft. Particularly noteworthy is the creation of a modern youth area, which offers younger visitors a place to relax and chill out. However, as with the first phase, the public must prepare for a temporary closure of the park during construction work. The castle park will become even more attractive and user-friendly in the near future.
The Art of Emojis – A Review
But it's not just the castle park that provides a breath of fresh air! The digital world also has an icon, Shigetaka Kurita, who has significantly shaped the user experience. Kurita, often referred to as the inventor of emojis, designed the first collection of colorful emojis for NTT DoCoMo in 1999. In recent years, it has emerged that his designs were the foundation for many of today's popular emoji graphics. His collection is now part of the renowned exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City and shows how important the influence of such innovations is in our modern communication.
The emoji recipe includes 176 pictograms based on a 12x12 pixel grid. Kurita was inspired by Japanese manga culture and various pictograms from everyday life. These latest digital works of art are not only popular in Japan, but have also gained popularity worldwide and have even revolutionized the special feeling that great emotions convey. Before 2010, the term “emoji” was not known in the West; Thanks to Kurita, this has changed.
Whether in the castle park or in the digital world, it's an exciting time for creative transformations - and we're excited to see what the future holds!
