CDU in Dormagen without a board: tensions are increasing!

A lot is happening in Dormagen: On November 1st, the CDU parliamentary group began a new term in the city council, but the parliamentary group executive committee remained vacant. Dieter Hartig declared his resignation from office after coming to office via the CDU's reserve list. At the CDU meeting on November 3rd, the elections for the parliamentary group's executive committee were voted on, but more than 100 days after the runoff election for the mayor's office, it is clear that tensions in the parliamentary group are still high. Hartig received 11 yes votes, his deputy Peter-Olaf Hoffmann 8. Anissa Saysay, the second deputy, however, did not receive confirmation. A planned conversation with the mayor and the SPD parliamentary group leadership has already been canceled - a clear announcement that a lot of conflicts can still be expected here, as meindormagen.de reports.

But not all news from Dormagen is political in nature. The city is also committed to the social sector: The Hospice Movement Dormagen e.V. is passionate about helping seriously ill people and urgently needs financial support to continue its valuable work. In the coming period, the city will struggle to finance the 2026 budget, which will place a heavy burden on the municipalities of the Rhine district of Neuss. The new district administrator Katharina Reinhold then faces major challenges, as dormago.de reports.

Cultural highlights and engagement

November also brings a number of events for citizens: on December 8th, the senior citizens' council invites you to an afternoon at the cinema, and on November 3rd there was an afternoon for people with dementia. The Dormagen fire department is also sending a signal of commitment: it is launching a campaign to support the children and youth hospice.
