Clothes swap campaign at Norbert-Gymnasium: Sustainability in focus!
In the heart of Knechtsteden, at the Norbert-Gymnasium, a very special event will take place on September 3rd, 2025: The clothing swap shop “Fashion Revive” opens its doors! At 1 p.m. the time has come, and under the motto “Swap. Recycle. Design.” Great things are made possible. Students are invited to donate items of clothing in good condition and in return refresh their fashion repertoire - without spending a cent. The idea for this innovative project came about as part of an Erasmus Plus project that deals with the topic of sustainability and is supported by EU funding. This not only protects the environment, but also your pocket money!
How exactly does “Fashion Revive” work? Each item of clothing handed in is rewarded with a voucher that the students can redeem for new items. And that's not all: In a creative corner, young fashion enthusiasts can upcycle or design old items of clothing, giving free rein to their creativity. The store will also be open regularly in room 521 during every first break and on Mondays and Wednesdays in the 7th hour. Anyone who would like to become active themselves has the opportunity to join a team of committed colleagues such as Nadine Neuwöhner, Julia Müller and Christiane Elsner and thus make a contribution to environmental protection.
Sustainability in focus
This initiative is part of a broader movement that has been gaining momentum for some time. Projects like those of erasmuser.com at the European level show that the trend towards sustainable fashion and the change in consciousness towards more responsible consumption are of great importance. More and more young people are getting involved in combining their love of fashion with an environmentally conscious lifestyle.
There are also other Erasmus+ projects active there that deal with topics such as climate protection, biodiversity and social inclusion. For example, the ESK volunteer project from Service Civil International Austria relies on environmentally-related team assignments that promote valuable networking between local and international volunteers. Such initiatives show how important it is to focus on sustainable values in education and to promote them from early childhood in order to create awareness of ecologically responsible actions.
The clothes swap at Norbert-Gymnasium will not only offer a practical opportunity to refresh your wardrobe, but will also provide a deep insight into the topic of sustainability. The students discover that fashion and environmental protection can go hand in hand.
Be there when “Fashion Revive” opens its doors and find out how much joy it is to create sustainable fashion while doing something for the planet!
