New rental agreement for rescue station in Jüchen signed!

In Jüchen, the course is being set for an improved security concept. On July 17, 2025, District Administrator Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke and Mayor Harald Zillikens signed an important rental agreement for the new rescue station, which is to be built on the fire station site on Kelzenberger Straße. The change of location from the previous station in the commercial area on Neusser Straße to the new, centrally located station is part of a comprehensive optimization of the emergency service in the region. This initiative was initiated by Petrauschke in 2020 and is now closer to being achieved.

The planned rescue station will not only provide space for a second ambulance, but also for the necessary personnel to ensure more efficient medical care in the western and northern parts of the city. Its location next to the fire station is intended to promote synergy effects in operations between the fire department and rescue services. The close cooperation between the Rhine district and the city of Jüchen played a crucial role here. The rental agreement now ensures the financial basis for the realization of this project, the start of construction of which is planned for 2026 and completion for 2027, as Rhein-Kreis Neuss reports.

A security center in Jüchen

The discussion about a central security center that brings together the fire department, police and rescue services under one roof is becoming increasingly popular. Mayor Zillikens informed the city council that the rental agreement will soon be sent to the Rhein-Kreis as a potential user. Particularly with regard to the future of the security forces in Jüchen, new paths could be taken here, as RP Online reports.

However, there are some concerns in the air: There have been rumors about the possible closure of the police station on Rektor-Thoma-Straße, whose condition is described as very poor. The Free Voters' Association (FWG) has already raised questions about the future of the police and emergency services in the local parliament, which shows that the situation is being taken seriously.

Optimization of collaboration

The efficiency of operations depends crucially on the cooperation between the various security services. As explained in a bachelor's thesis at the North Rhine-Westphalia University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration, the analysis of emergency operations, such as large-scale firefighting, is of immense value. The combination of the specialist skills of the fire brigade, rescue service and police makes it possible to respond quickly and specifically to challenges such as fires or traffic accidents, so that everyone involved is keen to optimize their cooperation. This necessity is also discussed on the Brand-Feuert platform.

The new rental agreement for the rescue station is not only a step towards improved medical care, but also a sign of the cooperation and communication between the emergency services in Jüchen. It will be interesting to see how the situation will develop in the coming years!
