TV Lobberich sets an example: New membership against sexual violence!
The annual general meeting of TV Lobberich took place in the Seerosensaal on October 27, 2025. Around 60 members accepted the invitation of chairman Marcus Optendrenk, who warmly welcomed those present. An important point of the meeting was the presentation of the certificate for inclusion in the “Quality Alliance for Protection against Sexualized and Interpersonal Violence”. Martin Wonik, deputy chairman of the NRW State Sports Association, presented the certificate and a sign for the clubhouse.
TV Lobberich has developed a comprehensive child protection concept that applies to all age groups. The association met all criteria for membership in the alliance, which includes measures such as risk analyses, seminars and a code of honor. Wonik expressed his gratitude for the work of the board and members that led to this success.
Honors and awards
Another highlight of the meeting was the honoring of long-standing members. Maria Dröger and Ulrich Rosenstein, among others, were honored for 25 years of membership. There were also recognitions for 40, 50, 60, 65 and 70 years of membership - including Peter Kühnen and Manfred Albersmann. A club best cup was also introduced, which was awarded for the first time to Maja Funken for her 20 years as head of the athletics department.
The inclusion of 17 young people in the senior section was particularly pleasing. Optendrenk praised the work of the board and the trainers, who created the basis for the successful course of the event and the development of the club.
Investments and outlook
In the last few months, TV Lobberich has also invested in the tennis area and upgraded the clubhouse. Another milestone is the reopening of the sports hall on Süchtelner Straße. Discussions about the future of the Lobbericher Stadium were also initiated. In this way, the club not only shows commitment to its members, but also to the infrastructure of sports offerings in the region.
The increasingly important issue of child protection in sport is addressed by the law passed in North Rhine-Westphalia in May 2022 State Child Protection Act further strengthened. This law supports youth work by demanding high professional standards and promoting exchange between those involved. TV Lobberich is thus positioning itself as a pioneer in protective measures and actively contributes to creating a safe environment for children and young people in sport.
With these measures, TV Lobberich shows that he cares about the well-being of his members and that he has a good hand for the future of the club.
