The 687th All Saints' Fair opened in Soest on November 5, 2025 in bright sunshine and a clear blue sky. The weather was described by showman president Albert Ritter as “queen weather”. This successful opening fell on the fifth day in office of the new mayor Marcus Schiffer, who was also able to look forward to his daughter's birthday with a special celebration.
The official opening took place at 2 p.m. Schiffer didn't miss the opportunity and invited the crowd to a polonaise, which created an exuberant atmosphere. The mayor mastered the hearty tapping of the keg with just three taps, so that the free beer could flow quickly. The first day of the fair attracted a large number of visitors from midday onwards who were delighted by the numerous attractions and culinary offerings.
Visitor numbers and traffic measures
The number of visitors on the first day was record-breaking, which the organizers were pleased to note. In order to optimize the traffic flow in the old town, the streets were closed to car traffic from 5 p.m. Detlef Märte, the head of the public order office, pointed out that traffic jams and blocked rescue routes should be avoided. In order to get to the fair more stress-free, visitors were recommended to travel by bus and train.
The fair is not only appreciated by the locals. Prominent guests were also present, including Börde Queen Annika Bock and NRW Fair Queen Julia I. Another special moment was Maximilian Wulf's first fair in his new role as Jägerken, which will certainly provide further highlights during the celebrations.

Tobias Westhoff, Schiffer's predecessor, spoke touchingly about his time in office and could not help but appreciate the special atmosphere of the fair.
