In Solingen there was a fire in a daycare center on Hossenhauser Straße on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. Thick smoke came from a garage-like extension, while the flames quickly entered the daycare center through a window. A total of 45 emergency services from the professional fire department and the volunteer fire department were on site. Five C-pipes and some heavy respiratory protection were used. It was extinguished from both indoor and outdoor areas, including from an aerial ladder. These measures were crucial in preventing the fire from spreading to the main building.
The cause of the fire remains unclear
In order to extinguish embers, parts of the roof and the slate facade had to be opened. The fire department reported “fire out” around 9:45 p.m. and fortunately there were no injuries. The criminal police have already started investigating the cause of the fire.
