The Corpus Christi holiday is particularly important for the Schagern-Rockel shooters, who want to celebrate extensively and decide the succession of the reigning royal couple Jan and Sandra Spieker. On Tuesday, fresh greenery was brought from the forests to decorate both the Schulze Pröbsting festival yard and the festival tent in a festive atmosphere. The big day of the rifle company's inauguration is scheduled for Thursday, June 19th at 1:30 p.m. at the marquee. This moment is accompanied musically by the Horstmar marching band. The shooters then march to Jessing Farm to pick up the reigning majesties and finally the royal shooting to determine a new king is carried out at the bird perch.
Culinary delicacies and festive events
The physical well-being of the festival visitors is also taken care of. There is a tempting culinary offering at the festival site, ranging from coffee and cake to fries and currywurst. At 8 p.m. the new royal couple will be proclaimed in a polonaise, followed by a royal ball to which the dance band “Limits” will perform – entry is free!
The celebration then continues on Friday, June 20th, from 2 p.m. This is where the shooters start, followed by the march to the bird perch to determine the new star king. For the little visitors, a children's shooting festival will be held in the afternoon at the Schulze Pröbsting festival yard, where there will also be coffee and cake. The evening Royal Ball at 8 p.m. with the band “Start Up” also promises to bring a lot of momentum to the celebrations – entry is free here too.
