Climate Fund 2025: Steinfurt promotes heat protection for clubs and schools!

Things have been hot in the Steinfurt district in the last few weeks, and not just because summer has reached its peak. The newly launched one Climate Fund 2025 has already caused a lot of excitement. Numerous projects were submitted with the aim of promoting heat protection measures.

There is great enthusiasm: a total of 64 non-profit associations from 17 municipalities have submitted applications. These range from schools and daycare centers to sports clubs and care facilities. The interest shows that the topic is being taken seriously and many already have a good knack for sustainable solutions.

Selection and implementation of projects

However, it is interesting to know that due to the limited funding volume of 25,000 euros, only 25 projects were selected using a lottery system. These must be implemented by the end of March 2026. The funded projects focus primarily on greening our surroundings. For example, water features and wicker tepees for children as well as shady elements such as awnings are planned.

Project coordinator Sara Vollrodt emphasizes that there was a lot of demand, but not all applications could be approved. However, there may still be an opportunity for further commitment in the coming months, because if measures are not implemented or there is remaining funding, new projects could follow. So things aren't looking so bad in this country if environmentally friendly ideas are to be promoted.

Reopening of funding opportunities

To all homeowners who are curious: From August 1st, private individuals can submit applications for funding for energy advice. This advice aims to reduce heat consumption and is funded at 80%. The maximum funding amount is 400 euros, and the services include an expert assessment of the existing heating technology by qualified energy efficiency consultants. What's important is that the consultants don't actually have to remodel or optimize anything, but the recommendations are worth their weight in gold in order to minimize future costs.

Anyone who wants to optimize their heating system can obtain a list of approved consultants from October 1, 2025. The savings that can be achieved through such a step cannot be underestimated.

Federal funding in view

But the program is not just intended to honor local commitment. The Federal funding for efficient buildings (BEG) also supports broad measures for renovation and energy saving. Interested parties can submit applications for individual measures, which can be done via the BAFA portal. This includes, among other things, adjustments to the building envelope and system technology.

It's not just the funding of club projects that shows that the Steinfurt district is at the forefront when it comes to climate protection. Here, attention is paid to environmentally friendly living and citizens have the opportunity to actively participate.

For anyone who needs more information, the respective funding websites are a good starting point. The need for heat protection and efficient energy use is greater than ever, and many in Steinfurt's communities are ready to do their part.
