A medieval spectacle is being celebrated in Voerde today that captivates both young and old. TheMedieval festivalstarts at 2 p.m. on the festival lawn and offers lots of entertainment. Special attractions include knight actors, exciting participatory activities and a captivating play called “Ritter Rost”. The Nabu also provides information about nature, while animal encounters with donkeys and owls liven up the festival. The entrance fee of just 3 euros makes it an affordable experience for the whole family. Radio KW reports on this event, which is very popular in the region.
If you prefer something more Caribbean, the Kastellplatz in Moers is the perfect opportunity. TheMoers Caribbean Festivalinvites you to a street food and beach festival until July 13th. 150 tons of sand create a real beach feeling, surrounded by real palm trees, a volleyball court and comfortable sun loungers. Around 30 food trucks offer a wide range of culinary delights - including refreshing cocktails and rousing live music.
Family adventures and gardening love
Next Sunday, July 13th, families can enjoy a very special experience in historic Schermbeck: theFamily trip daywith the historic field railway. From 11 a.m. we go on a nostalgic trip from the train station in Gahlen to the TuS Gahlen sports field and back.
This is for garden loversOpen Garden Gate DayAn absolute must in Kamp-Lintfort. On July 12th and 13th, 18 gardens will open their doors. The largest garden in Hoerstgen, which extends over an impressive 17,000 square meters, is particularly impressive. The anniversary this year will make the atmosphere even more festive.
Summer fun on the Xanten South Sea
At the weekend we continue with one directly on the sandBeach party on the Xanten South Sea. The starting signal has been fired today, and the music from artists such as Anna-Maria Zimmermann, Isi Glück and Calvin Kleinen creates an exuberant atmosphere. The non-swimmer area offers a welcome opportunity to cool off. Tickets are available for around 27 euros.
Tomorrow, on July 13th, there will also be a very special event in Xanten: theSiegfried Spectacle. Here guests experience four days full of medieval battles, music and fun. Adults pay 16 euros, children only 8 euros. Anyone who appears in historical clothing can attend for 13 euros (6 euros for children). There are even discounted tickets for visitors with severe physical disabilities, who are allowed to bring an accompanying person with them free of charge, and a family ticket for 40 euros with two adults.
