In love with Bad Dürkheim: sausage market for the hearts of young people!
In Bad Dürkheim, where cosiness and fine wines are very important, the largest wine festival in the world awaits visitors soon - the Dürkheimer Wurstmarkt. From September 12th to 22nd, 2025, the 609th edition of this traditional festival will be celebrated, which attracts not only locals but also guests from many parts of the world. Alexander Schweitzer, Prime Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate, is expected at the festival, which only increases the anticipation. The connection between this popular event and the search for love is also discussed, as can be read in an article from Rheinpfalz, which sheds light on how young people get to know each other digitally.
The festival combines Palatinate cosiness, exuberant atmosphere and market flair. Mayor Natalie Bauernschmitt emphasizes the importance of this festival for the region, while the opening day already features a concert, a parade and a historical sausage market spectacle. The delicious wines and sparkling wines from the Dürkheim wineries are of course the focus, complemented by a lively market.
A celebration full of highlights
The sausage market offers visitors a variety of highlights. On both Sundays there will be the “Jazz in the Wine Village” program, while literary events, such as a morning pint in Palatinate dialect on September 15th, will provide additional cultural insights. An autograph session for 1. FC Kaiserslautern will take place for sporting fans on September 22nd.

Diverse culinary offering
Anyone who wants to explore the culinary offerings of the Dürkheim sausage market will get their money's worth. The wine villages offer 13 wine tents with a selection of classic white and red wines as well as sparkling wines. Over 300 wines and sparkling wines from Dürkheim locations are available for tasting, while beer from Allgäuer Brauhaus AG is available. The combination of fine drinks and Palatinate specialties makes the sausage market an unforgettable experience.
The Dürkheimer Wurstmarkt, as it is also affectionately called “Worschdmarkt”, has a long tradition that dates back to 1417. Today the festival attracts not only locals, but also numerous guests from near and far. The city of Bad Dürkheim is already preparing intensively for the event, which will once again ensure full hotels and enthusiastic visitors, as the Palatinate Wine Festivals also demonstrate with numerous other events.
Wherever you travel, the sausage market promises to be a feast for the senses, where your heart can open to love and enjoyment. Be there when they say: good things take time and a glass of wine!
