Dynamo Dresden is planning big transfers: who is coming, who is going?

June 14, 2025 is a defining day for all SG Dynamo Dresden fans. The club did it: In May of this year, promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga was celebrated, after an exciting competition that was narrowly decided in the 3rd league. Sports director Thomas Brendel is now responsible for putting together the squad for the coming 2025/26 season and making some personnel decisions.

The departures make it clear that the squad needs a refresh. Players like Philip Heise, Tom Berger and Phillip Böhm are leaving the club. The loan of Mika Baur (SC Paderborn), Andi Hoti (1. FC Magdeburg) and Jonas Sterner (Holstein Kiel) ends - new solutions have to be found here. The loss of Christoph Daferner, who helped the team a lot with his 18 goals and 5 assists throughout the season, but is now permanently moving to 1. FC Nürnberg, is particularly painful. On the other hand, there is also positive news: Alexander Rossipal is leaving F.C. on a free transfer. Hansa Rostock switch to Dynamo Dresden and thus bring a fresh impetus to the defense.

Transfer strategy and financial balance

The summer transfer period starts on July 1st and ends on September 1st, 2025. Brendel plans to use the income from the DFB Cup specifically for further new signings. The focus is on the transfer record from last season. This is certainly impressive: income amounted to 21.783 million euros, while expenses were 21.525 million euros. An increase of 258,000 euros shows that the club had a good handle on transfers and at the same time kept its financial resources comfortably under control, as transfermarkt.de shows.

What is certain is that Dynamo Dresden wants to be well prepared for the coming season. It remains to be seen whether the new transfers will be convincing in this sense, but there is great trust in the team and the decision-makers. The supporters are excited to see how the squad planning will progress and which other players may be targeted.

The coming period will show whether Dynamo Dresden can perform as well in the 2nd Bundesliga as they did last season. An exciting phase lies ahead and those responsible will do everything they can to attract fans to the stands. Because what would a football game be without the loyal supporters?
