Two accidents on the A48: traffic chaos near Koblenz on Monday evening!

On the evening of October 28, 2025, two unfortunate traffic accidents occurred on the A48 motorway, in the direction of the Dernbacher triangle, in the area of the Rhine bridge. The first incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. when a truck driver overlooked a car while changing lanes. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but the right lane had to be closed, which led to a backlog up to the Koblenz Nord junction. This was reported by Radio Westerwald.

Almost an hour later, at 6:15 p.m., there was a second accident at the Koblenz Nord junction. A car driver had to brake due to traffic, whereupon a motorcyclist following behind fell. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with injuries. The junction was also closed for accident recording and subsequent cleaning work. The two incidents once again showed how important it is to be vigilant in traffic.

Traffic chaos on the A48

The strain on drivers was noticeable that evening. The backlogs and closures led to considerable waiting times for commuters. Many were forced to take alternative routes or wait patiently in the queue. Such conditions can not only strain the nerves of drivers, but can also lead to additional traffic jams on the surrounding streets.

Traffic accidents are often the result of carelessness or sudden braking maneuvers, and the combination of heavy trucks and fast motorcycles can have devastating effects. It is therefore essential for all road users to exercise the utmost care and adapt to the respective traffic situations.
