Mörzheimer Kerwe: Family program and Palatinate expertise on July 20th!

Mörzheim is facing exciting times! The eagerly awaited Mörzheimer Kerwe begins on Friday, July 18, 2025. The celebrations extend until July 22nd and offer a packed program for young and old. This traditional wine festival not only attracts locals, but also many guests from the surrounding area. On the opening evening at 8 p.m., the event will be ceremoniously opened in the musicians' courtyard at the “Old Schoolhouse” by Mayor Hans-Dieter Schlimmer and the Landau wine princess Anna II. The “Klingbach Böllerschützen” give the starting signal, and there is no long haggling over the first hundred “Freischoppen” Pfalz-Express reports.

What awaits visitors on Kerwe Sunday? A colorful family program that will make hearts beat faster! A “dialect service” will take place in the musicians’ courtyard at 10 a.m., followed by a family afternoon from 2 p.m. Here the little ones can have fun at the children's flea market, raffle and face painting. A parade of the “Heuchelheimer Altertrümmer” also creates a good atmosphere. The Mörzheim SPD also invites you to their schoolyard, where the Kleine Kalmit Arzheim band will provide musical accompaniment from 1 p.m. [Rheinpfalz](https://www.rheinpfalz.de/lokal/landau_artikel,-stadtmagazin-m%C3%B6rzheim- Feiert-kerwe-in-drei-h%C3%B6fen-_arid,151864.html).

A celebration for the whole family

The family program not only impresses with delicious dishes prepared by Mörzheim clubs - including spiced snacks, fries and sausage salad - but also with an entertaining children's program. Highlights include the magic show by the magician Martinic at 3 and 4 p.m. as well as lots of fun and colors during face painting. The event will be officially opened at 2 p.m. by the local mayor Carina Langer, the SPD city association chairwoman Paule Albrecht and the state parliament member Florian Maier. At 5:30 p.m. Michael Landgraf will give a lecture about the Palatinate in the village community center at the church Pfalz-Express.

In addition, the Landauer Reptilium with its exotic animals such as snakes and bearded dragons will be on site and will be welcomed at 2:30 p.m. A photo exhibition by Florian Schmadel will also be part of the program. Admission to the Kerwe is free, which makes the event particularly accessible. Particularly worth mentioning is the expansion of the Kerwe area from 2024, which will include the new village community center and various wineries. The upcoming festival offers a variety of opportunities to enjoy your day!

A celebration of tradition and community

The Mörzheimer Kerwe has a long tradition. The Weinkerwe itself takes place on the fourth weekend in July, this year from July 25th to 27th. In recent years, the event has attracted numerous visitors and will not take a step back in 2025. Whether visiting the festival grounds at the “Alten Schulhaus”, in the Wambsganß winery or at the singing club in the Stentz winery – everyone gets their money’s worth here. The mix of conviviality, culture and happy get-togethers is what makes Mörzheim one of the most popular festivals in the region Wine Festivals of the Palatinate.

The highlight of every festival is the raffle of a new car, like this year when Peter Ohlinger from Landau won an Opel Astra in the Sparkasse's “PS-Sparen und Win” lottery. In terms of media, it's a great sign of the event's social commitment, with part of the proceeds going to social and cultural projects.

For everyone who wants to experience a wonderful celebration, the Mörzheimer Kerwe is the perfect place to spend happy hours with family and friends!
