Cyclists for children with cancer: Pre-Tour of Hope excited!

The “Pre-Tour of Hope”, which takes place from July 4th, 2025 to July 6th, 2025 in the picturesque southern Palatinate, attracts numerous cycling enthusiasts from all over Germany. Almost 120 racing cyclists will set off on the 228-kilometer route, which will take you across the region in various stages. At the heart of this movement is the goal of collecting donations for children with cancer and those in need of help, and doing so with great success. Significant amounts have already been raised through the tour in the past, which has strengthened the community enormously. More and more individual activities are developing into strong events under the umbrella of the tour, as the organizers of PRE-TOUR emphasize.

The event starts in the charming town of Landau, and the cyclists cover a route that spans three exciting daily stages. With numerous stops in different places, not only the cyclists themselves, but also clubs, companies and schools are encouraged to make their contribution and thus support the campaign. Police Chief Andreas Sarter is particularly motivated this year. He is actively committed to the cause and has already collected 910 euros at the Rhine-Palatinate police headquarters!

Enthusiasm and support

Together with his colleagues, Anja Rakowski from Trier and Jürgen Süs from Koblenz, Andreas Sarter will take part in all stages. A special highlight of the tour took place on July 5th, 2025 in Bad Bergzabern, where a donation check for 1,650 euros was presented to the cycling group. This shows how important community and support is in such initiatives. In fact, with the “Pre-Tour of Hope” a community has been formed that stands up for the common cause and is actively involved. Jürgen Grünwald, the organizational manager of the “VOR-TOUR”, plays a central role and ensures that the event runs smoothly and that more and more people come together with the cyclists.

The “Pre-Tour of Hope” has gained significance due to its emotional anchoring in the region. More and more people are realizing the ways they can help. A good example of this is the “People for Children” charity bike tour, which has been taking place in Central Hesse since 1996 and now attracts around 500 cyclists. Known for celebrity supporters such as Joey Kelly and Kai Hundertmarck, they also collect donations for charity every year. Such events show how united the cycling community can be for a good cause.

The path to hope

For the participants it is not only a sporting challenge, but also a matter of the heart. The cyclists have the opportunity to pause at various donation stops and hand over their collected funds on a stage, strengthening the emotional bonds between the supporters and the cyclists. David from Ried, an enthusiastic participant, says: "Every kilometer counts. And it's always a great feeling when we arrive together and know that we can help."

The “Pre-Tour of Hope” is more than just a bike race; it is a sign of solidarity and togetherness. The tireless efforts of everyone involved will once again support countless children and families who need help this year. The coming days in the South Palatinate promise exciting challenges and warm encounters, and for all participants the path to hope becomes a little bit brighter with every pedal stroke.
