Martin Schindler: German darts hope failed again in the third round!

Unfortunately, the Darts World Championship did not end as Martin Schindler had hoped. On December 28, 2025, the best German darts professional had to face the challenge of Ryan Searle at Alexandra Palace in London and lost clearly 0:4. Schindler thus missed the chance to reach the round of 16 for the first time, which is a bitter setback for him. In the last two years he was eliminated in the third round and was therefore unable to improve his World Cup record. The Rhine Palatinate reports that Schindler struggled with many missed throws and doubles problems during the game.

What was particularly disappointing was the low average of under 90 points, which the 29-year-old didn't even reach. With just 13% of double hits, he was unable to prevail. Searle, on the other hand, had an impressive performance with an average of almost 103 points and a checkout rate of 48%. This meant that his performance was not only efficient, but also impressive with several high scores such as a 180 and a finish over 151 points. Sports picture makes it clear that with this victory Searle has qualified for the round of 16 of the World Cup for the fourth time.

From the start to the end

He won the first set early, but had to briefly give up control in the second set and lost 3-0. However, he cleverly used his skills in the last two sets and clearly won 3-0, so he seemed to be on the right track at the time. The sports show mentioned that Schindler entered the tournament in seed position 13 in this World Cup - his best placement to date.

Now the question remains what will happen next for Schindler. He was ranked 13th in the Order of Merit and many people were looking forward to his future performances. It remains to be hoped that the talented darts professional will learn from the experiences of this World Cup and can show his strength again at future tournaments, such as the next darts year. His compatriots Gabriel Clemens and Arno Merk, who were also represented in the tournament before Schindler's defeat, are particularly remembered. What will be the next step for Schindler? The fans are excited!
