MaxSolar again named TOP Innovator – A milestone for Traunstein!
Last Friday, MaxSolar GmbH was awarded the prestigious TOP 100 seal for the fourth time at the German SME Summit in Mainz. The company, which is based in Traunstein, has established itself as one of the leading innovators in German medium-sized businesses. Ranga Yogeshwar, who acted as a TOP 100 mentor, congratulated the award winners in the festive atmosphere of the Rheingoldhalle.
The Traunsteiners received the award for their top achievements in the areas of renewable energies, technology and sustainability. At the award ceremony, Guido Reinecke, CFO of MaxSolar, emphasized the commitment and innovative strength of the company, which has been actively shaping the market for 16 years. Since it was founded in 2009, MaxSolar has specialized in the development of holistic energy concepts that combine all relevant sectors.
From photovoltaics to electromobility
The company covers the entire value chain: from development and planning to installation and operation of systems. MaxSolar follows an integrative approach in which photovoltaics, wind power, storage systems, electromobility and heat supply are combined into tailor-made solutions. A special offer from the company are Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), which guarantee long-term, predictable and sustainable power supply.
MaxSolar's project pipeline includes an impressive 7.6 gigawatts. Around 370 employees work at MaxSolar, which is spread across four branches in Germany. Particularly exciting is the company's only subsidiary, Energy Partners, which was founded in 2024 and offers innovative energy solutions for industrial, commercial and logistics customers. Their focus is on efficient, sustainable energy supply and intelligent e-charging solutions.
Innovations in the energy transition
In connection with the innovative strength in the energy sector, the SET100 list, which is presented by the German Energy Agency (dena) and the World Energy Council, receives particular attention. It includes the 100 most promising start-ups in the energy transition and climate tech sector worldwide that stand out for their solutions and innovations. This list is a sign that the spirit of innovation in the energy industry is at a high level.
With categories such as Clean Energy & Storage and Mobility & Transportation, the SET initiative shows the diversity of ideas being developed around the world to advance climate protection. On March 18, 2025, 15 start-ups, previously selected by an international jury, will present their solutions at the SET Tech Festival.
Hydrogen as a key technology
Another important topic is the role of hydrogen in the energy transition. As part of the Science Year 2025, the MS Wissenschaft is presenting the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft's “Fascination with Hydrogen” exhibit. This exhibit explains the opportunities and challenges of hydrogen technology and offers visitors the opportunity to gain knowledge interactively. Hydrogen can act as an energy storage device and convert excess renewable energy into pollutant-free electricity, making it a key technology for climate protection.
The impressive innovations from the field of renewable energies show that the industry is making progress and that numerous players in Germany and around the world are working to actively shape the energy transition. MaxSolar and the projects on the SET100 list represent this progress and the commitment that is necessary to make our future energy system sustainable.
