FK Pirmasens defies Eintracht Frankfurt: 2-2 in an exciting test match!

In the summer heat at the Ahorn Camp Sportpark Dreieich there was an exciting duel today: FK Pirmasens played in a friendly against Eintracht Frankfurt's U21s. As part of their pre-season preparation, FKP managed to achieve a 2-2 draw after initially leading 2-0. Yannick Grieß scored the first goal with an impressive strike from the halfway line, followed by another from Nico Wiltz. Coach Daniel Paulus described the game as a “great test against a professional team” that should prepare his team well for the challenges ahead. The Rheinpfalz highlights that five regular FKP players were missing due to injuries or other personal reasons, which makes the test all the more remarkable.

Eintracht Frankfurt dominated the first 45 minutes of the match, which the team demonstrated with more possession of the ball. But after a few changes, the FKP managed to remain defensively stable and finally gained the upper hand. This form of resilience could be important for the upcoming games in the major league.

On to the top league!

Next Saturday is the next highlight for FK Pirmasens: FSV Jägersburg, current leaders in the football league, will welcome the Pirmasensers at 3:30 p.m. For Kristof Scherpf, who began his career at FKP, the game will be something very special. The player returns to his former club, where he has played twice before. Scherpf, who moved to SC Hauenstein in the B youth team, has now gained valuable experience in the major league and would now like to bring his skills to Jägersburg. According to the Saarbrücker Zeitung, he experienced his time in Jägersburg as very positive.

Preparation and training in focus

Effective preparation for the season is essential for all teams, especially after the restrictions caused by the corona pandemic. In many federal states it is now possible to practice outdoor sports without significant restrictions. According to the DFB, coaches can rely on extensive training sessions spread over six weeks. Three sessions per week are scheduled in the first four weeks to get the players fit and optimally prepare them for the season.

  • Woche 1: Grundlagenausdauer
  • Woche 2: Fußballspezifische Ausdauer
  • Woche 3: Schnelligkeit und Koordination
  • Woche 4: In Ballbesitz agieren
  • Woche 5: Gegen den Ball arbeiten
  • Woche 6: Trainieren im Mannschaftsverbund

The preparations are in full swing and both players and coaches are fully committed to the mission of optimally positioning themselves for the upcoming challenges in the league. The anticipation for the upcoming encounters with Pirmasens is palpable and promotion to the top league is the goal that everyone is working towards.
