Graffiti scandal in Oberwesel: Unknown people are defacing the city!
On the night of Friday, June 20, 2025, to Saturday, June 21, 2025, unknown perpetrators caused a stir in Oberwesel with several graffiti attacks that are now making headlines. The city itself is seriously damaged by the numerous spraying plants. The city map, the paving stones on the “Burgweg” and the train station building are particularly affected. The perpetrators mainly used red paint, but also blue, and pressed lettering and numbers such as “161/05/85X0” onto the surfaces. The responsible Boppard police station is now asking the public for information about the people responsible. This report was announced by the Koblenz Police Department on June 25, 2025 at 1:24 p.m., as reported by news.de.
Graffiti is a recurring problem in many cities. Unknown sprayers repeatedly cause immense damage. Similar incidents also recently occurred in other regions of North Rhine-Westphalia. Here, the walls of the nearby Weser-Gymnasium were daubed with unconstitutional inscriptions and tags. These dirty actions are not only damage to property, but also a legal gray area. The Herford criminal police and the Bielefeld state security agency are investigating and calling on witnesses to help. Information can be reported by calling 05221-8880, as polizei.nrw informs.
