A real highlight in the cultural life of Hahnstätten was the 150th birthday of the Niederneisen men's choir on November 8th. A festival that took place in the village community center under the motto “Haste Tones” and made the hearts of the visitors beat faster. The MGV, an integral part of the region since its founding in 1875, celebrated with an evening full of music, memories and joy of life, which crowned the anniversary year, which began with numerous events such as a choir night and a summer meeting. The musical accompaniment was provided by the festival band of the Hoch-Weisel Music Association, which performed under the direction of Jenny Nowak. The Aartal men's choir, the Aarlegro mixed concert choir and the newly founded project ensemble “Vocal Heroes” also performed. It is particularly worth mentioning that the Aartal men's choir, which was founded in 2015, brings together singers from Niederneisen, Lohrheim and Holzheim and thus represents a colorful cross-section of regional singing life. Together with the MGV theater group, this rounded off the evening, which was moderated by Armin Bendel and Volker Martin.
A look back into the past
The anniversary celebrations made it clear how important the MGV is in the cultural life of the region. The members and friends of the association were able to reflect on the 150 years of tradition and community at the various events. The anticipation of the anniversary was fueled by a program that was not only musically but also socially significant.

The joy at the success of the festival was clearly noticeable and gave hope for further successful years for the club. Members and friends toasted and celebrated until late in the evening. The tickets were sold in advance for 12 euros and at the box office for 15 euros, a price that was more than worth it for the entertainment on offer.
It's really fun to be part of such a cultural event that shows not only the musical diversity but also the community of people in Hahnstätten. The audience's response speaks for itself and will certainly keep the MGV Niederneisen highly popular in the future. The next challenge is just around the corner and the anticipation for the upcoming events is already palpable as plans for a new choir night are back on the table.
