Kleinniedesheimer Kerwe: Only one club remains – festive mood on the weekend!

Kleinniedesheim is preparing for a festive weekend! The traditional Kerwe takes place from Friday August 15th to Tuesday August 19th and transforms the village into a colorful festival tent. The square on Bobenheimer Landstrasse and the sports field will become a venue for entertainment and socializing. But a lot has changed compared to last year: only the gymnastics club (TV) will be responsible for catering, as the small animal breeding club and the singing club, the latter of which dissolved last year, are no longer active for health reasons. Local mayor Ewald Merkel confirmed that health problems among the key families in the small animal breeding association meant that they could no longer take part in the festival. This casts a shadow over the organizers and the preparation for the Kerwe, reports Rhine Palatinate.

Nevertheless, the festival is in jeopardy, because there is great anticipation for the Kerwe parade on Sunday, which starts at 2 p.m. and includes 24 contributions. The parade will begin on Am Hofstück Street and will include, among others, the Palatinate Wine Princess Lara, the Kleinniedesheim Wine Countess Lucie Marie and Miss Straw Hat Larissa. Volunteers worked on the motif cars for over 80 hours – an impressive collective effort!

Festival program with highlights

The program promises plenty of action: the festival begins on Friday at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and the Pure Beats dance group. At 7:30 p.m. DJ Sapphire will provide the rhythmic sound. On Saturday evening, guests can look forward to live music with Kala and Friends. Walking between the stalls is also a must as the atmosphere will be full of hustle and bustle.

The offer on Sunday will appeal to families: In addition to bouncy castles and child-friendly face painting, there will be performances by TV children's dance groups. Monday is planned as a day of rest for the members of the gymnastics club, before the Kerweendspurt begins on Tuesday at 5 p.m., where children can eat ice cream for free. The village festival finally ends at 10 p.m. with a “funeral” – a custom that is part of the successful festivities in some regions and causes many a laugh.

Kleinniedesheimer Kerwe is not only a local festival, but is also one of the popular events in the region, alongside the straw hat festival and the sausage market. Loud Weekly newspaper reporter The people are always asked which is the most beautiful festival in the Palatinate - a title that the Kleinniedesheimer Kerwe could definitely claim for itself.

There is great anticipation for the exciting days in Kleinniedesheim, and with the cohesion of the village community and the support from TV, nothing stands in the way of a great celebration. Finally, if you want to experience the festive atmosphere and togetherness, you should definitely stop by!
