ISB invests in Speyer: CibusCell revolutionizes hydrogen production!
A lot is happening in the area of hydrogen technology in Rhineland-Palatinate. Recent developments show that a local investment round is bringing a breath of fresh air to the industry. The Investment and Structural Bank Rhineland-Palatinate (ISB) is participating in the CibusCell Technology GmbH from Speyer, a promising start-up that specializes in the development of software solutions to increase efficiency in the production of green hydrogen.
The company, which was founded in 2021 and recently secured the title “Startup Innovative 2023”, relies on digital solutions. CibusCell's software enables AI-driven monitoring and analysis of real-time data along the entire hydrogen value chain. Interestingly, how Rhine Palatinate reports, the company does not have its own production facilities or large tanks - instead it relies on a competent team of IT engineers and state-of-the-art technology.
Financial support and innovative strength
ISB's participation takes place via the venture financing company for technology promotion in Rhineland-Palatinate (WFT) and the regional investment company VcV Venture-Capital Vorderpfalz. This financial support comes from the Innovation Fund Rhineland-Palatinate III, a funding program of the Ministry of Economics, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture, which is supported by the European Union is co-financed. This fund includes, among other things, 25 million euros to support hydrogen projects, positioning the Rhineland-Palatinate region as a center for innovative hydrogen applications.
Markus Rübsam, Managing Director of CibusCell, emphasizes the outstanding importance of digitalization for hydrogen production. With CibusCell's developments, process costs in hydrogen production can be reduced by up to 30 percent, which is a decisive advantage not only for the company itself, but for the entire industry. Mike Walber, head of the venture capital department at ISB, highlights the innovative strength and future drive of the start-up, which with intelligent control technology could become an important building block on the way to a climate-neutral economy.
Sustainable impulses for the region
Rhineland-Palatinate is consistent in its efforts towards sustainable development. The federal states recently launched the 250 million euro KIPKI program, which is intended to particularly benefit municipal and corporate use of hydrogen. This shows that support for innovative projects will continue and a clear signal is being sent for climate protection, as in the Innovation Agency is to be read.
Overall, CibusCell Technology GmbH not only stands for innovative approaches to hydrogen production, but also for the great potential that every euro of support brings to the sustainable development of the region. All you can say is: There's something going on!
