Traffic chaos in Speyer: Cathedral Square closed due to swearing in!
Preparations for the upcoming swearing-in ceremony on Friday, August 29, 2025, in Speyer are in full swing. The Speyer city administration has already announced extensive traffic control measures to guarantee that the event runs smoothly.
From 10:00 a.m. to around 1:30 p.m., Cathedral Square in Speyer will be completely closed to vehicle and bicycle traffic. The traffic control measures also affect local public transport: the buses on line 561 will be rerouted from 10:00 a.m. to around 2:00 p.m., with replacement stops being set up.
