Flexline buses in the Südliche Weinstraße district: Offer is being expanded!
In the beautiful Southern Wine Route, the individual communities have moved a decisive step closer together. The VRN Flexline, a flexible on-call bus service, now has the opportunity to be mentioned in all communities in the Edenkoben municipality. This was recently unanimously decided by the district's main and finance committee. The offer has been enjoying increasing popularity for more than a year and the passenger numbers speak for themselves. The service recorded 600 passengers in July and August, while in September it exceeded the 700 user mark. Citizens from places like Altdorf, Venningen or Edesheim in particular make active use of this offer, which shows that there is good business here.
The Flexline service will now be offered from Monday to Sunday between 8:30 a.m. and midnight, and the whole thing will be extended by four hours for the people of the southern Palatinate - an additional boost for mobility in the region. But the costs for the municipality increase due to this expansion from 43,000 euros to 68,000 euros annually.
Simply book with the myVRN app
The Flexline is operated by five modern minibuses that are available exclusively on call. Passengers have the opportunity to conveniently book their trips via the myVRN app or by telephone. Registration in the app is free and requires no payment, but appropriate payment methods must be provided for ticket purchases. This system ensures that using the Flexline offering remains uncomplicated and user-friendly.
For travelers who decide to travel with VRNflexline, booking is a breeze. You can simply enter the destination, start and desired time in the app and it will then suggest the best route option. Please note that a booking is successful if a confirmation email is received, as without this the trip is considered not booked. And don't worry: a valid VRN ticket is all that is needed to ride the Flexline.
Special features and family fun
Another plus: Children under 6 years of age travel free of charge, but must also be registered. For travelers with special needs, such as wheelchair users or luggage transport, it is important to specify this when booking. The app lists all stops in the service area and directly shows the nearest points, making planning even easier.
Overall, the VRN Flexline is gaining momentum, and it is clear that this mobility solution not only makes everyday life easier for citizens, but also arouses ever-growing interest. The success of the project is reflected not only in the numbers, but above all in the feedback from users, who can look to the future with a good feeling. For anyone living in or visiting the Southern Weinstrasse, the Flexline is definitely a step in the right direction to improve public mobility.
