75 years of OGV Kirrberg: Celebration with enjoyment, music and creativity!
The Homburg-Kirrberg fruit and horticultural association is looking back on 75 years of club history this year. On Sunday, October 5th, the big “Kerbricher Thanksgiving Festival” will take place in the Lambsbachhalle, a highlight in the club’s event calendar. The celebration begins at 10:30 a.m. and promises a colorful program for young and old.
At the opening at 11 a.m., the Kirrberg parish band will welcome guests with musical sounds. Afterwards, visitors can look forward to a hearty lunch, followed by greetings from guests of honor and honoring long-standing members. The festival's unique motto, “Fruit and vegetables with a difference,” offers an interesting twist that demonstrates the club's dynamism and creativity.
Creative exhibitions and culinary delights
The Thanksgiving festival is traditionally accompanied by a colorful exhibition that not only shows crops, but also presents creative interpretations of fruits and vegetables. Here the diversity of nature is presented in an artistic form, which is certainly a beautiful sight for everyone involved. In addition to the traditional products presented by the members of OGV Kirrberg, new creations are also used. These include the “Kirrberger Drobbe”, which has been expanded to include innovative products such as arnica, sleeping berries and angelica.
The culinary side of the festival will not be neglected. Fine brandies and liqueurs from the club's own distillery are on the menu, including the new “beer brandy” and the “Kirrberger fig liqueur”. In addition, a product category will be presented for the first time that was created through collaboration between beekeepers and “Saftheinis” - a real treat that no one should miss.
A festival with tradition and heart
Thanksgiving has a long tradition that dates back thousands of years. It serves to express gratitude for the gifts of nature and symbolizes respect for work in agriculture, gardening, beekeeping and fishing. It is no coincidence that many churches are decorated with agricultural products and the harvest offerings are often distributed to those in need after the celebrations. A beautiful custom that reminds us of the core message of the festival - gratitude for the gifts of nature and coming together in the community.
The OGV Kirrberg team is expecting a delegation of over 40 people from the partner club Gestungshausen in Coburg for the anniversary celebration, which underlines the solidarity and exchange between the clubs. The festive atmosphere is complemented by the numerous offerings and performances that embody the spirit of Thanksgiving.
Be there and celebrate a successful Thanksgiving with the Homburg-Kirrberg fruit and horticultural association, which combines tradition with innovation and sets an example of community.
