The Hillesheim Crime Days are just around the corner and promise an exciting weekend for crime fans and all those who are enthusiastic about exciting stories. From September 4th to 7th, 2025, Hillesheim, considered the “crime capital of Germany”, will be transformed into a true mecca for lovers of exciting readings and spooky stories. Volksfreund reports that the program includes, among other things, appearances by well-known authors, hands-on activities, live music and book presentations.
A total of eight events are scheduled over the four days, which will not disappoint any fan. The opening event on Thursday, September 4th is entitled “Murder made in Eifel” and begins at 8 p.m. in the Augustiner Hotel. The reading with the crime thriller stars Barbara Philipp, Steffen Will and Bernd Hölscher promises exciting entertainment, accompanied by musical sounds by Helm van Hahm. Tickets are available for 25 euros and admission starts at 7 p.m.
Diverse program
On Friday evening, September 5th, the popular author Romy Hausmann will read from her latest psychological thriller “Himmelerdenblau”. This event takes place in Hillesheim Town Hall and starts at 8 p.m. The evening will be accompanied musically by Fortuna Ehrenfeld and Martin Bechler, with entry prices of 20 euros in advance and 23 euros at the box office.
For younger guests, there will be a reading for children on Saturday, September 6th. “Holly Holunder and the Missing Dog” with Judith Merchant starts at 2:30 p.m. in the Bolsdorfer Tälchen. Here, little crime fans can immerse themselves in the world of crime with hands-on activities for 7 euros.
Another highlight on Saturday is the “Crime Cops” event. Real police officers present the crime novel “Payday” on the Eifel Film Stage, accompanied by musical interludes by Helm van Hahn. Tickets cost 20 euros in advance and 23 euros at the box office. This performance starts at 8 p.m., doors open at 7 p.m.
Finish in style
On Sunday things get creative at the “Crime Quiz Breakfast” in Café Sherlock. From 10 a.m., participants can put their knowledge to the test while enjoying a delicious breakfast. Entry costs 20 euros, entry opens at 9:30 a.m. Immediately afterwards, the open-air event “Mukke, Mord & cheerful men” will take place from 2 p.m. Live music and crime readings by artists from the Eifel region promise an entertaining afternoon, and tickets are also available for 20 euros.
As a grand finale, the film “Tatort Falkenlay” will be shown at 7 p.m. in the Eifel Film Stage, with ticket prices at 10 euros. On Sunday, half of the ticket price will also be donated to charity. Krimiland Eifel points out that tickets are available both at the tourist information centers in Hillesheim, Gerolstein, Stadtkyll and online.
