Discover contemporary ceramic art in the KKM Museum Neunkirchen!
On June 25, 2025, the KKM Ceramic Art Museum in Neunkirchen will open its doors for a fascinating event: The “Ceramic Talks” invite you to an exciting exchange about modern ceramic art. The focus is on the conversation with Kyra Spieker, who will present her artistic work process and technical approaches. She is supported by Dr. Liane Wilhelmus, who will provide insights into her unique ceramic work. This duet promises interesting perspectives - in particular, the serial modular construction method, which is based on architectural principles, will be at the center of the conversation.
“The event is a wonderful opportunity for all art lovers and those interested,” said Helge Articus from the state government. Entry is free, meaning everyone has the opportunity to take part in this profitable exchange. The “Ceramic Conversations” are not only a platform for discussions, but also an invitation to discover the diversity and creativity of contemporary ceramic art.

The KKM Ceramic Art Museum is open during the week from Wednesday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Sundays and public holidays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Visitors can easily travel by public transport or via Google Maps, so nothing stands in the way of an inspiring visit.
A look into the collection
The museum's collection offers an impressive variety of contemporary ceramics. This ranges from figurative ceramics to abstract objects and includes special vessels, vases and bowls. The ceramic material comes into its own in its sculptural design.
The artistic techniques include different glazes and surface treatments, which are impressively showcased in the objects on display. The exhibition shows works by international artists such as Arnold Annen, Paula Bastiaansen and – of course – Kyra Spieker. Unique techniques such as Raku and Celadon bring variety and creativity to ceramic art and have become very popular in the KKM.
Whether you are a fan of ceramics or just want to spend an exciting afternoon, the KKM Ceramic Art Museum has something to offer for everyone. Come by and be amazed by the diversity and beauty of ceramic art!
