Large residential construction project: 100 units in Eischeid start now!
The groundbreaking ceremony for one of the most striking residential construction projects in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid was recently held. In the Eischeid district, a contemporary residential area is being built on an area of around 2.4 hectares that will create around 100 new residential units. This project, which is led by Schmidt Bau GmbH, was launched in the presence of Mayor Nicole Berka and other representatives from the region ksta.de reported.
The total investment volume for the project is around 30 million euros, with the area planned to be developed by the end of January 2024. After this phase, building construction will begin and completion could take three to four years. Five apartment buildings with a total of 50 to 60 apartments and around 40 single-family homes are planned, which will primarily focus on the needs of future residents. 36 plots of land have already been reserved for single-family homes, with division scheduled to take place in August 2023. The new quarter will offer barrier-free residential units and include the most modern energy concepts, such as photovoltaic systems and heat pumps, although the original concept for an ice storage and water tank was rejected.
Sustainability and quality of life
The concept of the new residential district combines modern forms of living with urban planning and ecological requirements. The planning, led by engineering firm Nickel, aims to create an energy-efficient development that is compatible with the townscape. The aim is also to achieve the net zero standard, which means that resources are conserved and ecological factors are taken into account to a considerable extent. How nk-se.de reports, comprehensively planned green open spaces and short paths in the new district are also part of the development plan.
Mayor Nicole Berka underlines the importance of this project as a response to the high demand for housing in the region. The declared goal is to create a lively, diverse and sustainable living environment, which should be supported through community participation and social mix. Targeted, broad and participatory planning from various disciplines plays a central role here, as stated in a report dbz.de is emphasized.
Social aspects and demand
In addition to the energy aspects, social factors are also an important part of the housing project. Successful design of the living environment not only promotes quality of life, but also a sense of community. The new neighborhood is intended to create space for interaction and identification, which can increase the acceptance and satisfaction of future residents. Resource-saving architecture, barrier-free living and a mixed neighborhood are seen as essential factors.
With this forward-looking approach, the project aims to create not only housing, but also a new living space that takes into account the needs of a diverse community. The expected start of construction of the high-rise buildings after the development will bring a breath of fresh air to Eischeid, where only around 487 residents currently live. The course has been set and the region is looking forward to the future.
