New Oddo BHF location in Saarbrücken: 100 jobs in sight!
Something is happening in Saarbrücken! The established Franco-German financial group Oddo BHF has big plans for the state capital of Saarland. Loud Saarbrücken newspaper It was already announced in June 2023 that Oddo BHF would like to create 100 new jobs. Michael Cattarius, the managing director of Oddo BHF Solutions, can already report initial successes: over 20 jobs have already been created and 23 further positions are advertised. The goal? A total of 250 people are expected to be employed in Saarbrücken by the end of 2023.
Oddo BHF's ambitions are clear. The bank originally had its eye on office space on the site of the former tax office, but interest in this location was lost for unclear reasons. The concept award failed, and the state is now planning a new award this year. As an alternative, Oddo BHF has now rented office space at Viktoriastrasse 2 and renovated it. Progress can already be seen there too: 35 additional office workstations have been created on the ground floor, and a further 70 workstations are expected to be added on the first and second floors by February 2024.
A family business with history
Oddo BHF looks back on a long tradition that goes back to Marseille in 1854. The decision in favor of Saarbrücken was made as part of a sustainable growth strategy. The location was chosen to create an onshore solution and improve collaboration with headquarters. The easy accessibility of the city, which is centrally located between Paris and Frankfurt, also plays a role. In addition, Saarbrücken has qualified young talent and experienced employees from the German-French-speaking area - which is very important for Oddo BHF.
A breath of fresh air for the city
The creation of new jobs is a real benefit for Saarbrücken and the region. “We rely on digitalization and IT know-how,” emphasizes Cattarius. The new Business Solution Center, which will open in Saarbrücken, will offer various business services. Multilingual talent and creative minds who want to work in a motivated team are particularly needed here.
The opening of the new location will be celebrated with a larger celebration and political prominence. The glass connecting path (skywalk) between the two buildings could be a very special highlight - but it remains to be seen whether this will remain just a joke from Cattarius. In addition, a former vault room in the basement of the new location will be converted into an internal bar. Team spirit should flourish here!
