Important support for single parents
In Germany, around 2.5 million underage children are now growing up in single-parent households, it is reported bmfsfj.de. This situation often presents challenges that require comprehensive support. Single parents are entitled to various counseling services to resolve conflicts and promote the relationship between children and both parents. The “STARK” project, for example, offers online advice on legal and financial aspects surrounding separations and is therefore valuable help.
Economic independence is another central theme. Measures such as the expansion of child day care and income-dependent parental allowance are trying to help single parents. From 2026, a legal right to a place in all-day school for children up to fourth grade will also be introduced - a step in the right direction on the way to more support.

The proportion is currently 18 percent, even if shared care often remains the exception. Research shows that 22 percent of children no longer have contact with one parent and 29 percent never sleep over at the other's house. These facts illustrate the need for events like “Doubtless Jack of all Trades!”, which not only provide information, but also opportunities for exchange and social networking.
