Mayor Manfred Rippel did not miss the opportunity to warmly welcome the guests on behalf of the city of Homburg and Mayor Michael Forster. In his speech, Rippel congratulated those celebrating their anniversary for their many years of loyalty and their tireless commitment to better working conditions and solidarity among colleagues.

The ceremony was initiated by Salvatore Vicari, the second representative of IG Metall Homburg-Saarpfalz. In addition, Esra Limbacher, member of the Bundestag, Timo Ahr, member of the state parliament, and the volunteer pastor Wilfried Bohn contributed to the celebratory setting with their speeches. Commitment and challenges

Mayor Rippel not only acknowledged the commitment of those celebrating an anniversary, but also discussed the current challenges facing the regional industry. In his remarks, he emphasized how important cooperation between politics, companies and unions is in these challenging times. “Without strong, joint action, we are lost,” emphasized Rippel, reporting on the constructive discussions between the city, IG Metall and the Bosch works council.

Oliver Simon, works council chairman of the Homburg Bosch site, gave an update on the situation in the city council and made it clear that Homburg, with over 30,000 jobs, is an important location that is committed to a strong industry and secure jobs. “We must do everything we can to create good and secure jobs, especially in new commercial and industrial developments,” Rippel promised in his speech.
