Wingertszahn remains DGB boss: 98.6 percent for the future!
On November 8, 2025, the DGB district conference in Mainz will give a clear sign of approval. Susanne Wingertszahn was re-elected chairwoman of the DGB district of Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland with an impressive 98.6 percent of the vote. A big tailwind for the 32-year-old, who had no opposing candidate and is therefore starting her second term in office. In her first election she received 97.6 percent of the vote. DGB federal chairwoman Yasmin Fahimi was also there and praised the district's successes.
The topics of the conference revolved around the current challenges facing industry in Germany. Wingertszahn and Fahimi reiterate their commitment to the climate policy goals of the Federal Republic and the EU. “We have to adapt our tools and measures to achieve these goals,” said Fahimi. Wingertszahn also warned against the relocation of industrial value creation and jobs to China, which, in her opinion, could harm climate protection in the long term. Dealing creatively with the challenges of the time is therefore at the top of the agenda.

Together with her committed team, she will work towards setting the right course for the future.
These are exciting times for the union, and Wingertszahn's appointment to the top is a motivating sign for the members. It remains to be seen what will happen next and what suggestions the management will come up with to solve the current problems.
