Buchholz municipal council: Important decisions on July 17th!
On Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 7:30 p.m., the Buchholz municipal council will meet in the Dörphus Buchholz, Dorfstraße 22 a. A look at the agenda shows that the meeting offers an important platform for the citizens of our community. Reports from the mayor and committee chairmen as well as two mandatory resident question times are planned. A central topic of the meeting will be discussion on funding measures to increase the attractiveness of the village community center.
The event will also discuss a project proposal within the framework of the AktivRegion Herzogtum Lauenburg Nord e.V. This commitment not only aims to enhance the community space, but at the same time strengthens social cohesion in the locality. In addition, the issuance of the first supplementary budget statutes for the 2025 financial year is under discussion. Topics such as the renovation of the dirt road in the direction of Disnacker Weg and the surface treatment of the “Lehmberg” road are also being addressed, with the contract awards for these measures to be decided.
On the agenda: municipal heat planning
Another exciting item on the agenda is the implementation of municipal heat planning, which is carried out in cooperation with 24 other municipalities of the Lauenburg Lakes Office. Loud lauenburg.de Municipal heat planning is an essential element in achieving the region's climate goals. The declared goal is a climate-neutral heating and cooling supply that covers the entire building stock.
The Energy Transition and Climate Protection Act (EWKG) plays an important role here. Fortunately, the city of Lauenburg/Elbe intends to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 65% by 2030, with the long-term goal of a complete reduction by 2045. The implementation of such projects is supported by collaboration with other municipalities, such as Boizenburg/Elbe, in order to jointly develop a resilient heating and cooling concept. This concept is intended to show technical options for achieving greenhouse gas neutrality and strengthen the use of renewable energies.
Public part and unofficial decisions
In addition to public issues, the meeting will also discuss property matters and the purchase of land for the planned Neue Dorfstrasse residential area. However, these points are on the agenda in the non-public part of the conference. Detailed agenda items include, among others:
- Eröffnung der Sitzung und Feststellung der Beschlussfähigkeit
- Bericht des Bürgermeisters
- Berichte der Ausschussvorsitzenden und Arbeitsgruppen
- Einwohnerfragestunde
- Annahme von Spenden im Jahr 2024
- Prüfung der Jahresrechnung 2024
- Verschiedenes
- Sowie die Bekanntgabe der im nichtöffentlichen Teil gefassten Beschlüsse
What is particularly noteworthy is that municipal heat planning in Schleswig-Holstein will be binding for 78 municipalities, which covers around 60% of the population. A progress that not only ensures the comfort of citizens, but also opens up the prospect of a sustainable future. The Heat Planning Act is expected to come into force on January 1, 2024 and will include further measures for energetic district development that are entirely in line with the climate goals.
If you have any questions or comments about municipal heat planning, the city administration's climate protection office is available. The dialogue between the Buchholz municipal council and its citizens is a step in the right direction, and it will be exciting to see how these topics are further discussed in the meeting.
