Art weeks in Sterley: Marlo Klinnert inspires with giant paintings!
A colorful artificial autumn is just around the corner! On Friday, July 25, 2025, things really get going in the “old school” cultural center in Sterley, as the central opening event of “Villages Show Art” will take place there at 7 p.m. The event promises to be a feast for the senses and is the start of an exciting exhibition period that will take place from July 26th to August 17th, 2025, on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The mayors of the region will also be present at this event and will give a review of the 2024 exhibition and an outlook for 2025.
One painter in particular stands out among the participants: Marlo Klinnert, who comes from Geesthacht and is very well known in the region, is presenting an impressive large painting of six square meters for the occasion. Klinnert, who is famous for his large formats, has joined forces with the Hamburg artist Duc to form the creative collective Mooz Walls. In early summer 2023, this group designed a 180 square meter wall in the Göggingen swimming pool in Augsburg, which was selected as part of a multi-stage selection process with online voting. Large-format wall designs form the economic basis for Klinnert's artistic work, which he refined at renowned painting schools at home and abroad.
Arts funding and local talent
The events and exhibitions not only benefit from the creativity of the artists, but also from the support of local sponsors. The sponsors of the “Villages Show Art” exhibition series include the Kreissparkasse Herzogtum Lauenburg, the Stadtwerke Lübeck and the Vereinigte Stadtwerke. These partners make an important contribution to promoting culture in the region, which is supplemented by federal funding for art and culture. The latter focuses on institutions and projects of national importance and aims to preserve cultural heritage and strengthen art in various forms, as kunstverwaltung.bund.de reports.
In order to ensure participation in the exhibition, artists must agree to the processing of their data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation. Data security and transparency are top priorities. The guiding principle of the exhibition is symbolized by the logo of the “laughing pike”, which was designed by Christoph Ernst from Klein Zecher.
Looking forward to the exhibition
With around 40 participating artists, the region can expect a diverse and exciting range of art. This is an excellent opportunity to discover and support local talent. The Tourism Committee of the Lauenburg Lakes Office plays a key role by creating a framework for these cultural events and organizing their implementation. Because as the saying goes: “Art connects!” And not just between art and audiences, but also between communities.
We are looking forward to a creative time and invite everyone interested in art to stop by “Villages Show Art”. doerfer-zweien-kunst.de provides further information and can serve as a valuable resource for all art-loving visitors. Be there and experience the passion and talent of local artists up close!
