Marijuana plantation in Bad Oldesloe: Police discover drug cultivation!
A fire led to a dramatic incident on a sailing yacht off Travemünde on Wednesday afternoon. The skipper, who quickly made an emergency call, was able to escape into a life raft and was brought safely to shore by a nearby training boat. Despite the quick response, he was examined for smoke inhalation to be on the safe side. The sea rescue cruiser Felix Sand was deployed to put out the fire and secure the wreckage. The exact cause of the fire remains unclear as the boat anchors in the harbor. NDR summarized this information very clearly in its report on the fire brigade operations in Schleswig-Holstein.
Yesterday, September 30th, the police in Bad Oldesloe discovered a marijuana plantation in an apartment on Segeberger Straße. The clue came from the noticeable smell coming from an open window. The apartment was inspected based on a search warrant from the Lübeck district court. There, officers found a complete marijuana cultivation facility, but no live plants. Instead, they came across several bags of harvested flowers. All marijuana cultivation equipment was confiscated. Unfortunately, there were no people on site, which is why the perpetrators are still unknown and the criminal police's investigations are still ongoing, reports Bild.
Current security situation
Current concerns also include the sighting of drones over critical infrastructure in the country. Interior Minister Sabine Sütterlin-Waack expressed the urgent need for nationwide cooperation in order to better address possible threats. The sightings affected, among other things, the power plant, the Kiel University Hospital and the refinery in Heide. Although the security authorities have not yet been able to identify a specific threat, the situation remains tense and requires further review.
At the same time, there were serious allegations against employees of the youth welfare office in Brunsbüttel. They are suspected of having negligently contributed to the death of a baby and bodily harm. The mother and her partner of the deceased girl are currently in custody because they are accused of failing to provide assistance.
Further developments in Schleswig-Holstein
In the region, criticism of crab fishing in the national park does not let up. Environment Minister Tobias Goldschmidt has clearly spoken out against the current practice, while Agriculture Minister Werner Schwarz replied that at least 37% of the area remains completely untouched. The topic remains controversial and quite explosive.
Good news comes from the cultural world: The Schleswig-Holstein Magazine is celebrating its 40th anniversary today. Since it was first broadcast on October 1, 1985, it has established itself as the most successful regional program and has achieved a market share of 36%. This is a cause for celebration for all station employees and loyal viewers.
The news is rounded off by “Pinktober”, a breast cancer awareness campaign in which numerous buildings are illuminated in shimmering pink to raise awareness of the disease. Every year, around 4,000 women in Schleswig-Holstein receive this diagnosis, which underlines the urgency of such actions.
So there is a lot to report in the region, and while some celebrate, others have to deal with serious issues. It remains exciting to see what the next few days will bring.
