Full closure of the L34 near Osterhever: construction work until July 18, 2025!
An important development for the traffic situation in Schleswig-Holstein: On June 30, 2025, the Schleswig-Holstein State Road Construction and Transport Agency (LBV) began the comprehensive renovation of State Road 34 (Norderheverkoogstrasse) near Osterhever. This measure is expected to last until July 18, 2025, meaning that the section between the Dörpstraat junction and Norderheverkoog-West will be fully closed during construction work, as stated NDR reported.
It is important for residents and road users to know that this road will not be accessible during construction for road safety and occupational health reasons. The police and emergency services are allowed to pass through the area with restrictions, as explained in the information from LBV.SH. Affected properties cannot be reached by motor vehicles during asphalting work, which is why the construction company will provide information on site about possible restrictions.
Detours and construction phases
The construction work will be divided into two phases. The first construction phase runs from June 30th to July 18th, 2025 and affects the area between the junction of Norderheverkoog-West and Dörpstraat. The second construction phase is planned for the period from July 28th to August 14th, 2025, with the work extending from the Dörpstraat junction to just before Mittelsandweg. The diversion for the first section leads from Norderheverkoog-West via the L310 towards Tetenbüllspieker and the K29 to Sieversfleth to the L32 towards Osterhever and vice versa. Detailed information about the diversions can also be found on the official website of the state of Schleswig-Holstein schleswig-holstein.de reported.
The total investment for this renovation measure amounts to around 1.3 million euros, which will be borne by the state of Schleswig-Holstein. Despite a tight budget situation, which also led to cuts in investments, Schleswig-Holstein Transport Minister Claus Ruhe Madsen plans to invest over 400 million euros in the state's infrastructure for 2023, which indicates an increasing prioritization of the renovation and expansion of the transport network kn online.
Traffic routing during construction work was coordinated in consultation with the police, the traffic authority and the communities. The LBV.SH asks all road users to understand and follow the signposted detours. It remains to be hoped that the work will go smoothly and that improved and safe traffic management can soon be guaranteed.
