Shock in Ellerbek: brutal robbery of an elderly woman in her own home!
A serious robbery shook the quiet neighborhood on Am Moorgraben Street on October 10, 2025. Three to four masked men violently broke into the single-family home of a 79-year-old woman around 10 a.m. and threatened her with what was believed to be a firearm. While confronting the perpetrators, a commotion ensued in which the elderly woman was slightly injured as she tried to follow the robbers. However, serious medical help was not required, as the Dorfgefrische reports.
After the crime, the perpetrators fled in an unknown direction, firing two shots that caused a stir in the neighborhood. The investigators have not yet been able to provide an overview of the exact loot, but the police have initiated extensive searches that have so far failed to identify the suspects.
The police are asking for your help
The Pinneberg criminal police have taken over the investigation and are now looking for witnesses. Anyone who can provide relevant information or who may have seen suspicious vehicles is asked to call 04101-202-0. The situation shows once again how important the vigilance of neighbors is in countering such crimes.
Similar incidents are not uncommon across Germany. According to Statista, over 38,000 robbery crimes occurred in 2022, a number that is particularly worrying in urban areas. North Rhine-Westphalia recorded over 23,500 cases of residential burglaries in 2022, which corresponds to more than 35% of the nationwide statistics on robbery crimes. Here too, the clearance rate fluctuates - for residential burglaries it is 16.1%, while robbery crimes can have a significantly higher rate of almost 60%.
Robbers in other cities
A similar case occurred in another part of Germany, more precisely in Munich, on December 19, 2024. At least two perpetrators robbed a jeweler and stole jewelry worth over 100,000 euros. There, too, the employees were threatened with a gun and the robbers fled on e-scooters in the direction of Prannerstrasse, it is reported In Franconia. Here too, the search efforts were initially unsuccessful. Such an approach, in which perpetrators resort to violence using firearms, is alarming.
The general crime situation in Germany shows an increase in theft and robbery, which results in a growing need for security among the population. Thefts and especially robberies represent a serious threat to the security within one's own four walls. In the future, it is to be hoped that such acts can be curbed through better security measures and collective action, a task that affects us all. According to current statistics, it will remain important to remain vigilant in the future.
