Mecalac abruptly closes Büdelsdorf location – 180 jobs at risk!

Today brings some drastic changes for the community of Büdelsdorf, especially for the workforce of Mecalac, a manufacturer of construction equipment. How KN Online Reportedly, the company is closing its location in this region, leaving a total of 180 employees out the door. The closure came as a complete surprise as employees were informed without prior notice.

IG Metall has taken a clear position and criticized management for the inadequate involvement of the works council and the workforce. Following the takeover of Mecalac by French construction group Fayat this year, this is a serious move that will have a massive impact on the local working environment. The company management is planning talks with the works council, but a specific schedule is still unclear.

News from Eckernförde and the surrounding area
