On October 10th and 11th, 2025 it will be quiet on the AKN route between Norderstedt and Ulzburg Süd. As NDR reported, there are no trains running on these days because extensive track work is being carried out between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. A replacement bus service was set up for the affected passengers in order to maintain mobility during this construction period.
The replacement buses will stop at stops close to the regular points, providing some flexibility for passengers. However, it should be noted that bicycles cannot be taken on these buses. The journey times are extended by around 20 minutes and the departure times may also vary. In order to inform travelers in a timely manner, appropriate notices will be posted at the stops. Later this month, passengers will have to prepare for further train cancellations: from October 20th to 27th, 2025, trains on line A1 near Kaltenkirchen will be canceled. The reason for this is necessary work, including the replacement of switches at Kaltenkirchen Süd as well as maintenance work on a bridge and the replacement of old sleepers.
