Stormarn company sports group rocks the MOPO team relay race 2025!

On August 28, 2025 it was finally that time again: The 17th MOPO team relay race took place in Hamburg's city park. Almost 2,000 teams from all over Germany competed against each other in this popular event, and the Stormarn district administration's company sports group took part with two relay teams. The mild temperatures provided optimal conditions for the sporting event, which relied heavily on team spirit and shared experiences.

It was a special occasion for the people of Stormarn, because half of the ten runners laced up their shoes for the first time for a competition in the Stormarn district jersey. The two relays, each consisting of five participants, mastered the five-kilometer route with flying colors: Relay 1 achieved a time of 2:28:38 hours and thus came 726th out of a total of 1,112 teams. Season 2 followed closely behind with a time of 2:31:47 hours, ranking 799th.

Shared experience and team spirit

The event was not only a competition but also a celebration of community spirit. “The focus is not on the personal best,” emphasizes artiva, the partner of the event, who emphasizes the importance of the shared experience for the teams. Only the total time of the teams was recorded; individual times were of no interest to anyone. Special framework conditions and organization

The organizers clearly regulated how to get to the city park: the use of public transport was recommended, and there were also sufficient parking spaces available for cyclists. Sanitary facilities ensured hygiene, while additional garbage containers were provided so as not to pollute the environment even after the event. The on-site moderation and the reporting by NDR created a festive atmosphere and informed viewers about the events.

The MOPO team relay race has developed over the years into an important event in which the focus is not only on sporting achievements, but above all on the unity of teams and colleagues. The event now has a permanent place in the calendar of many sports enthusiasts - this year especially for the company sports group of the Stormarn district administration.
