Discover hidden garden gems at Open Gardens Day 2025!

On June 14, 2025, things will be particularly green in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg! The Open Gardens Day invites garden lovers to open the door to over 200 lovingly landscaped gardens. Organized by the IG “Offener Garten” campaign, visitors can go on a discovery tour and be inspired. No matter whether it's a city garden, a landscape garden or a shady retreat - there's something for everyone here.

Guests can look forward to a variety of activities in the participating gardens. Not only is there the opportunity to exchange ideas with the garden owners, but also to receive tips and suggestions for your own gardening. If you have a good knack for plants, you can even dust off cuttings and enjoy a cup of coffee in between. Highlights of the participating gardens

The event extends not just over one day, but over the entire weekend - from June 14th to 15th, 2025. Admission to many gardens will be free; some gardens ask for a small donation or charge a minimal entry fee. Here is an overview of some of the participating gardens:

• Bargfeld-Stegen: Klinikgarten mit Café; Hunde willkommen.
• Bargteheide: Familie Müggenburg lädt zur Gartenbesichtigung; Spende erbeten.
• Heilshoop: Pflanzenverkauf & Kaffee; 4 Euro Eintritt.
• Ohlstedt: Besondere Hunde-Note mit tollen Ausblicken.

There is a lot of variety: from single-family home gardens to natural and shade gardens to special collector's gardens - garden fans can really discover everything here. Of the more than 200 gardens, 40 are opening their doors for the first time. This promises a breath of fresh air in the garden landscape and many new impressions!

Extraordinary experiences and more

If you want even more garden feeling, you can mark August 2nd, 2025 in your calendar now. On this day the “Long Night of the Gardens” takes place, where over 30 gardens are open until late at night. A real highlight for all night owls among garden lovers.

Visitors who would like to attend the events regularly also have the opportunity to discover the first Sundays of the month until October, when another 20 to 30 gardens are open. Don't go, because a printed garden guide with everything you need to know can simply be picked up!
