Free beer for the fire department: Ertingen receives 800,000 euros in funding!
You can look forward to it in Ertingen! Because the volunteer fire brigade is properly held accountable. As schwaebische.de reports, the municipality in the Biberach district not only receives a large financial injection of 800,000 euros for the new construction of the fire station, but also an additional grant of 820,000 euros to maintain their operational capability. In this way, local politics shows that fire protection is taken seriously and that it has a good hand here.
Finally, a total of 5.44 million euros from the equalization stock were distributed to 20 cities and municipalities throughout Biberach. These funds come as part of the grants for the fire service (ZFeuVwV) and are urgently needed. The money will not only be used for new buildings, but also to purchase vehicles and equipment. According to the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, Sport and Integration, such funding is essential because cities and municipalities are responsible for fire protection and technical support services. Local fire departments play a central role in averting danger, be it in the event of fires or technical accidents.
Broadband expansion and school financing
But that's not all that awaits Ertingen in the coming months. In addition, the municipality is also investing generously in the digital future. An amount of 932,299 euros is to be used to expand the “grey spots” as part of the broadband economic gap model. This ensures that even remote areas can benefit from the digital infrastructure.
But investments are not only being made in the area of fire services and digitalization! The Michel Buck Community School is also being considered. Here, 2,492,990 euros will go towards expanding the cafeteria as well as building and renovating rooms for all-day care. The estimated total expenditure amounts to 3,847,172 euros, with the municipality having to raise its own contribution of 1,068,427 euros. All of these measures show how important it is to work together to advance the training of young people and the equipment of the fire department.
Future orientation through support
A look beyond the borders of Ertingen shows that the state funding for fire departments and communities in Bavaria creates a solid basis for the future in both fire protection and disaster control. From 2025, the general renovation of fire stations will also be funded in order to bring them up to the standard of a new building, which further strengthens the commitment to technology and safety. Financing comes from the share of the nationwide fire protection tax that is specifically invested in fire protection. This ensures that fire trucks and equipment always remain up to date.
Overall, the support from the federal and state governments sends a clear message: not only are investments being made here, but also forward-looking planning so that the communities are prepared for future challenges. And that is probably the most important thing when it comes to the safety of citizens.
