Precautionary meeting in Laupheim: Secure help for those in need of care!
The challenges of old age should not be underestimated. Especially when it comes to the need for care, there is often great stress for those affected and their relatives. In Laupheim, this problem is taken into account: the city administration offers a series of events that deal with the topics of care and prevention. According to a report by Schwäbische, these events are organized in cooperation with the working group (AK) and are intended to represent an important forum for many interested parties.
The next prevention meetings will take place on Monday, July 7th and Monday, August 4th, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the meeting café at Mittelstraße 49. During these afternoons, participants can exchange information and have conversations that provide clarity in difficult situations arising from the need for care. All interested citizens are warmly invited and there are still places available for the events. An appointment can be made by contacting Hermann Manne, the city of Laupheim's senior representative, on 07392/704149 or by email at hermann.manne(@)laupheim.de.
Dementia and support
The topic of dementia is particularly explosive and is important not only in Laupheim but nationwide. A campaign has been running in Baden-Württemberg since February 14, 2022 to raise awareness of dementia and provide information about the needs of people with dementia and their relatives. 120 municipalities are involved in this campaign, including Laupheim. This campaign with a focus on understanding, patience and small gestures is supported by the Alzheimer Society Baden-Württemberg e.V. together with the state's Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration, as can be found on the city of Laupheim's website.
As part of this campaign, dementia cafés, dementia courses and exchange evenings take place regularly in the meeting café. The organizers work closely with Monika Adolph, the dementia guide at the Laupheim senior center. The aim is to offer affected families and carers support and support them in their everyday lives.
Advice offers and important contacts
The support for caring relatives is also supplemented by various advisory services. The Alzheimer's telephone of the German Alzheimer Society e.V. is available for information on 030 259 37 95 14, while the Federal Ministry for Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth provides an information and exchange platform with its dementia guide. In addition, care support centers and care advice centers offer free, independent information about caring for people with dementia.
The topic of legal issues should also not be neglected. It is advisable to clarify at an early stage who should make decisions for the affected people in the worst case scenario. From a legal perspective, it is important to take precautions in the event of an emergency, as explained on the Gesund website.
In summary, we can say: Whether through the preventative care meetings organized by the city of Laupheim, the dementia campaign or the numerous advisory services – support for relatives is very popular in Laupheim. Take advantage of the options and information available to you!
