In Steißlingen, the upcoming network expansion is a topic of conversation. A central point of the discussion is also the dismantling of the masts that stand in areas of the Weitenried nature reserve and on agricultural land. The plan is to keep possible disruptions in this sensitive area to a minimum. TransnetBW and Amprion are the two transmission system operators that will carry out this large project.
The network expansion, which stretches over around 140 kilometers from Waldshut-Tiengen to Herbertingen, will become visible from 2032 when the masts are dismantled. Overall, construction is expected to take three years. The aim of the project is to significantly improve the performance reliability and system stability of the power supply.
